Astrolabe Brew Bar is in the heart of Mount Maunganui’s local community. The restaurant is adorned with eclectic kiwiana memorabilia and retro furniture. There is an outside courtyard with tables and a children’s playground complete with a fort, a slide and ride on mower.

Welcome to The Oak Tree Restaurant, a modern buffet service restaurant with a focus on a wide range premium food tastes. Established in 2008, The Oak Tree Restaurant is a live cooking, buffet restaurant located in the city of Tauranga. Our range of food options consist of a range delicious dishes including: roast of the day, soups, deli & salad bar, hot food selection, desserts, and beverages.
Children under 2 years are free and there's a child price for 3-10 year olds.

A hidden gem in Tauranga is AvGas Café & Bar, located at the Classic Flyers Museum. Inside the café there is a fenced play area for your little one complete with ride on plane, toys, books and musical instruments. Outside there is a large playground that is also fenced with a mini plane and train, swing, slide, underground tunnel, life-size war planes and helicopters that you can climb inside and play. This playground is adored by children both young and old. There are covered picnic tables outside so you can watch your little ones while they play. The “Little Friend” coffee deal which consists of a coffee, muffin, fluffy and a ride in the pedal car for little ones is only $8 during 9-11am weekdays. A great way to spend the morning.

Their kids menu offers hot dog, chicken nuggets or fish bites from $6.90. And if you don’t want to leave your motel, Babinka also has a motel delivery service for $5.

Tay Street Beach Cafe is a popular brunch and lunch spot where locals go in the Mount with a reputation for the best Eggs Benedict, Salads and Vegetarian around.  Serving great coffee and food that the kids will love too, there is both indoor and outdoor seating available.

Pacifica is the perfect place to bring the family for lunch. We have a fantastic kids menu to choose from which can be enjoyed in the cafe or from within our lovely shaded playground, or picnic tables on the grass in the sunshine. Our four chickens; Fab-a-chick-boom, Gingernut, Louis and Mildred live next to the playground for the kids to visit and our fish in the ponds in the garden centre, are firm favourites.

Elizabeth Cafe & Larder serves great food, the best coffee and has truly dedicated staff to serve you and the family 7 days a week.  They have a great kids menu that features the likes of waffles, bacon & eggs with soldiers, pan-fried fish & chips served with carrot sticks and plenty more options to enjoy.
