More on Wanaka's National Transport and Toy Museum
Not just a museum, there's a shop on-site wth the largest selection of collectible models and cars rarely seen anywhere else, as well as a wide range of toys and souvenirs.

Stockists of heavy duty car models- Meccano, Hornby, Burago, Siku, Buder, Matchbox.
Model aircrafts and vechicles- Airfix, Revell and Italeri, plus Lego sets, a large Sylvanian Families range (minature animals), Star Wars models, Postman Pat, Thomas the Tank Engine and more....plus lots of little fun items from 50c and up.

A nearby picnic and playground area features swings and play equipment, as well as pedal tractors and trucks for the kids.

BRIEF HISTORY
This is one of the Southern Hemispheres largest private collections open to the public. It is one mans dream that has taken over 50 years to collect. The owner Gerald Rhodes collected bargins from auctions, flea markets, garage sales, newspapaers and word of mouth.
The owner is always actively restoring and buying more vehicles and toys.

Truly amazing! ..and not something to be missed.
