TSS Earnslaw and Walter Peak High Country Farm Queenstown Full Steam Ahead
A lake cruise on the vintage steamship TSS Earnslaw combined with a visit to Walter Peak High Country Farm is a great day out for both parents and children. The coal-fired TSS Earnslaw provides a fascinating link with Queenstown’s past. Children love watching the stokers at work in the engine room and seeing the glowing fireboxes. As you relax on board enjoy delicious café style food or a drink from the bar. Every cruise allows you plenty of time to explore the decks and bridge, view the historic displays in the fo’c’sle gallery or on the return cruise, enjoy a lively sing-along around the piano. All the fun of the farm Disembark from the TSS Earnslaw at Walter Peak High Country Farm on the western shore of Lake Wakatipu for a taste of rural New Zealand. Children can feed the lambs (during Spring) and other farmyard animals, watch the sheepdog round up a flock of sheep and see a shearing demonstration. Country air works up a healthy appetite, so the trip includes a hearty morning or afternoon tea with fresh scones and pikelets. BBQ lunches, Evening Dining and Horse Treks (min. age 8) are other popular options.
