Moke Lake Horse Trek
This trek has it all - stunning panoramic lake and mountain vistas, river crossings and plenty of flat terrain for experienced riders to have a canter! A great trek for families. After riding up the river braid we cross into some of Ben Lomond's flatter terrain. We crest the hill for a fantastic photo opportunity, then ride back to base around Moke Lake, a beautiful swimming and fishing spot.
Pick Up: 8am at the Station

McConnochies Creek
All the excitement and breathtaking views of the 'Ride into the Past' but shorter.
With more than 15 river crossings, it's the perfect trek for riders and horses on a hot summer's day.
Pick Up: 1pm at the Station
Trek Departs 1.45pm
Duration 2hrs
Price: Adult $120, Child $110

Ride into the Past
Experience some of NZ’s most amazing and diverse high country while being transported back to the gold mining era.
After winding up through the fantastic scenery of the valley, we boil the billy and have some lunch at Sefferstown, the ruins of an 1880s gold mining village.
Then it’s an exhilarating ride through multiple river crossings and Moke Creek gorge to see more gold mining relics.
Great ‘Kodak moments’ plus opportunities to pick up the pace.
Pick up: 12noon at The Station

Tailor-make your own trip
Families may also like to ride in their own group; ask us about our personal trips, tailor-made to your requirements (minimum 2 persons). Departures for tailor-made trip available througout the day and evening.
Price: Adult $80 for first 1.5 hours, $50 per additional hour. Child is $10 less than total adult's price. (Child is age 4–14 years).

How To get There

Free courtesy vehicle
Our courtesy vehicle departs from The Station Information Centre as per times stated. Bookings essential.
Drive Yourself
If you are driving yourself please arrive 15 minutes before the trek departure time.
Park in the Reserve area and walk 100m to the base.
Directions: Take the Glenorchy road out of Queenstown for just over 5km. Turn right onto Moke Lake Road and drive for 9km until you reach Moke Lake.

What to Bring
We have half chaps, gloves, saddlebags, wet weather gear and helmets available. You will need to bring: water, long trousers/jeans, covered shoes, camera, sunscreen, snacks, a good sense of humour!

Extra Information
Our trips are very family-friendly. Come out and meet some of the kids' favourite horses: Mojo, Teddy, Dudley, Charley and friends. Excellent horses for beginners, nervous or young riders - between them and our friendly guides, you will be well-looked after! Children from age 4 years are welcome and we can lead-rein littlies.
