Nestled at the bottom of South Westland alongside the Haast River, you will find the Haast World Heritage Hotel. The hotel’s superb location, just 2 hours from the glaciers and 3 hours from Queenstown, makes it the ideal stopover point between the West Coast and the Southern Lakes. This World Heritage designated area is renowned as New Zealand’s “last frontier”, home to rare wildlife, rugged beaches and wild rainforests. Following extensive refurbishment, the hotel is the perfect place for your family to escape the hustle of modern life and experience true west coast hospitality!
We offer a selection of Kiwi hideaways to choose from, all just minutes from Punakaiki, set in rainforest and just a quick stroll to the beach. Our Treehouse Rata family apartment is elevated in the canopy of the surrounding forest and sleeps up to 7, with large in/outdoor spaces and 3 bedrooms (1 is a gorgeous upstairs sunroom with a fold out bed and skylight to stargaze!) Fully equipped kitchen, and we can even supply a good range of delicious heat-and-eat meals.
Absolute beachfront location and just a few minutes stroll into Hokitika. We offer powered camper van sites and cosy, self-contained log cabins sleeping up to 3. We also offer one and two bedroom apartments suitable for families. These are spacious, comfortable and warm, with full kitchens, and natural timber construction. There’s lots to entertain the kids here, with the beach on our doorstop and a small farmyard to visit: alpacas, ducks and ducklings, emu, sheep, goats, chickens and our friendly donkey! We also have a playground on-site, laundry, BBQ, DVD hire and small, licensed shop.
