Sea kayaking here also opens up a world of sea and bird life encounters with animals such as penguins, seals and dolphins. Kaiteriteri Kayaks operates short trips in the bays and coves surrounding Kaiteriteri Beach. This is by far the most sheltered area of the Abel Tasman. This makes it a perfect kayak base for families or less experienced kayakers. Trip ideas We have three products designed specially for families and even have family-friendly pricing on these. We have available beach rentals (suitable for 8 years plus) in Kaiteriteri Bay from 1 - 4 hours. We also have our famous Split Apple Classic 8 – a half-day kayak around to the famous Split Apple Rock. If you are keen for a full day of fun this can become a Beaches and Seals for 8 years+ and includes a walk in the afternoon on one of the best stretches of the Abel Tasman Coastal track. We provide: Kayak, life jacket, paddle, spray skirt, paddle jacket, dry box for cameras, detailed map, full safety briefing with qualified guide. What you need to bring: Water bottle, hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, towel, swimsuit, warm top (wool or fleece) wind jacket, change of clothes, camera, any medication.
