One Hour Hidden Bays Cruise
A perfect option if you're waiting for the ferry or short of time, and want to explore the Sounds, plus keep the kids entertained!
We'll transport you to a tranquil spot only visible by boat, with aquamarine bays, bush clad hills and golden sandy beaches! Look out for native hidden kiwi baches or luxurious retreats dotted along the shoreline. Complimentary hot drinks and fresh baked scones!

Walk or Bike the Queen Charlotte Track
Cougar Line offer you lots of options to get on and off the track, and to explore parts or even all 71km of it. We provide transport to and from the coves and bays along the track, and if you're off for a 2 or more day bike or hike, we'll move your luggage and bikes around, so they're always waiting for you!
The easiest section of track is the 13km from Mistletoe Bay to Anakiwa. An easy and exciting day out, we'll drop you at the start of your trek via our swift, smooth catermaran, and pick you up at the end of your day. Family walkers can expect to take 3 to 4 hours for the walk. Fancy biking it? It's the easiest part of track to mountain bike, but still recommended for bikers with some off-road experience, over the age of 12 (note: this is purely a recommendation - the track is open to all riders). Toilets and shelter at Anakiwa.
Price (return transfer): Adult $50, Child $25, Bike Transport: $10
(Bike hire can also be arranged with Cougar Line)
Picnic at Historic Ship Cove
A
fabulous family day on the Sounds, getting away from it to a secluded
cove where there's no road access! Ship Cove was a place of abundance
for early Maori, and the favourite ancorage of Captain James Cook.
Travel with us to this hidden spot, that's also the start of the famous
Queen Charlotte Track.
Pack a picnic (or allow us to organise one
for you!), bring your camera, fishing rods and cricket bat and have a
real family day - the cove has plenty of grass to run around, or the
more energetic can walk the first 45 minutes of the Queen Charlotte
Track to one of the best panoramic viewpoints in the Sounds. Otherwise
take the more gentle 20 minute waterfall walk, or simply relax by the
sea. Toilets, picnic tables and shelter are all on the beach, plus
information panels and historical landmarks. We'll pick you up and
return to Picton via Endeavour Inlet, where you can watch out for the
friendly resident dolphins.
Duration: approx 10am to 4pm
Price: Adult $68, Child $25, Under 5s FREE
SCHOOL GROUPS
The Queen Charlotte Sound is a wonderful environment for exploring the best that New Zealand nature has to offer. Sun, sea, bush and wildlife combine to make it a fun place to hold a school camp.
Jill and Mark Evans, owners of Cougar Line, understand the needs of school groups. Jill, a teacher for 22 years and Mark, a BOT chair for 9 years, will happily help with arrangements, from transport and accommodation, to one or mulit day trip and activity ideas.
