Wai ariki is set amidst spectacular mountain views on a 14 acre lifestyle block. We have 2 acres of sheltered farm park land where the animals are displayed in a clean, relaxed and peaceful environment.

Horse-drawn Fun
The Wai ariki horse-drawn Taxi adds a new dimension to the Wai ariki Farm Park experience. Whether you are looking for a 5 minute ride, a fun way of getting to and from the Park or an extended tour of the village, the Wai ariki Taxi offers you a taste of the horse-drawn era.
Children's Horse Trekking
Ground led treks offer children (24 months and up) a wonderful first riding experience. Mum and dad can either accompany the trek or kickback and relax with a coffee in the cafe. To avoid disappointment, book now for the school holidays!
Birthday Parties
Yes, we cater for children's birthday parties. We can tailor to suit all budgets. From basic park entry and feed, to a catered lunch including the Wai ariki Taxi and horse trek. Contact us for more details.
Cafe and Craft Gallery
After a wander around the Park, relax with a tea or coffee and some fine food from our vibrant café, then browse through the Craft Gallery.

HOURS Tues - Sat: 10am - 5pm, Open daily in school or public holidays and long weekends.

Cafe offers in and outdoor dining - our wide decks have a wonderful, relaxing ambience, with panoramic mountain views. They overlook the animals and play area, allowing you to keep a close eye on the kids. Toilets on-site.
School Groups
Planning your school camp or day-trip to Hanmer Springs? Why not include a visit to the newest attraction in Hanmer! We are an easy walking distance from the village centre and hot pools. Your students will enjoy hand-feeding our farmyard and exotic animals, the guided and informative walk, plus opportunities to touch and interact with our friendly animals.
