HANMER SPRINGS FOREST CAMP Abilities Lodge and Self Contained UnitsThe Lodge is a 27 bed, 31 berth self contained building, designed for people with disabilities. It has five bedrooms, its own kitchen/dining area and a separate lounge with a log burner. The kitchen is equipped with pots, pans, cooking utensils, cutlery and crockery for 31 people. This area of the camp caters for not only disabled groups, but family, social and smaller school groups as well. The Self contained units: Attached to the Abilities Lodge are two new self contained units for the disabled, with a queen bed in each unit. These units are self standing, but can be added to the lodge bedrooms with connecting doors. Cabin and Tent SitesThe Ensor Lodge:
Sequoia wing: A 40 bed accommodation building with ten separate cabins. Larch wing: This building has six cabins. One has a double bed and one set of bunks. The other five have two sets of bunks.
Mountain Beech wing: A building with eight family cabins. All these cabins are wheelchair accessible, and a wheelchair accessible shower and toilet is attached to the building
Powered cabins: These are the old single men’s cabins and have two single beds.
Tent sites:
The tenting area has 24 large tent sites ranging from 71 to 616 square
meters. Numerous big trees provide shelter from the sun. School CampsThe Hanmer Springs Forest Camp is an ideal setting for a school camp. What ever size school group you have, we can provide you with a variety of accommodation and kitchen/dining facilities. Special school prices for New Zealand schools during term time apply. A range of outdoor activities are available on and off – site, through our partnership with Activity Hanmer.
