Canterbury Museum is a window into the wonders of New Zealand and has been operating and collecting treasures for over 130 years. From moas to Antarctic penguins and bizarre artefacts we have something to keep all ages interested.

DISCOVERY CENTRE - SPECIALLY FOR THE KIDS!   Welcome to Canterbury Museum's natural history centre for children, bursting with weird and wonderful things to explore. Dig for fossils, be wowed by the witch’s pantry and learn all about the amazing natural world.  Discovery memberships available with birthday party options. Also check out our school holiday programmes.

ACTIVITY AGE INFORMATION  Ideal for ages 3 - 13

PRICES  General Museum admission is free. Discovery entry - $2 per person (free entry for under 3 yr olds and club members)

HOURS Daily (except Christmas Day) 9am - 5.30pm Winter months (April to September) Museum closes at 5pm

ANNUAL DISCOVERY CLUB PASS 
Individual child $15, 2 children $25, 3 children $35, 4 or more children $45 Adult accompanying pass $10
