Only a 25 minute ferry ride from downtown Auckland and boasting a unique landscape of rugged lava crops, lush native bush and sandy coves make this island ripe for exploring. Once you have arrived you will then board our fully guided 4WD road-train tour vehicle that will have you journey though volcanic landscape as you learn about the history and geology of the island. The island tour will take you to the base of the summit cone, where there are then approximately 300 boardwalk steps leading you to the very top. Here you will take in the 360 degree panoramic views of Auckland, the Hauraki Gulf and surrounding islands. Whether with kids young or old, this day out is one you will definitely want to add to your ‘to do’ list.
